GT8200 is based on WINDOW2000/XP automation integrated development-application platform, and applied to hydropower stations of different capacities and functions. It functions not only SCADA, but also sequence control unit, automatic synchronization, speed regulation, excitation, power regulation and controlling, etc. Moreover, it can realize unattended hydropower stations running reliable, safe and economical to interconnect with other systems, like microcomputer protection devices, transformer substation microcomputer monitoring device, town-level central station system, MIS and so on.
GT8200 station automation system can be divided into three layers: Station-level control layer, communication layer and spacer layer. In this case, station-level control layer includes the standby server, operator working stations, engineering working stations, communications processors, print servers and so on; communication layer functions as a collection point to order and upload the next data and bridges the spacer level and station-level control layer; while spacer layer is responsible for collecting data and sending back the implementation of the remote control, remote transfer orders, and consists of various main equipments, like the local control unit (LCU) , public / switching station LCU (LCU), local control unit (LCU) of the gate, front communication machines etc. In addition, GT8200 is also equipped with GPS clock synchronizer, Chinese speech alarm, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), mimic signal panel, large screen projector, remote supervisory terminal, operator control console and the like.
